It's one thing to say, this is my candidate, and another thing entirely to be able to articulate why, and to persuade the undecided through the explication of principles. Often, those with whom we speak will be unable to agree on the particular candidate, but will often be agreeable to the values we promote in the support of that candidate. As it stands, the Democrat candidate is nearly guaranteed, while the Republican field is wide open.

I've changed my voter registration. When first I registered, I selected for my political party "Libertarian". Idealism through and through. I'm in Oklahoma, and the Libertarian party didn't get enough votes to remain on the ballot since then. When they were (effectively) kicked out of OK, my party affiliation was changed to Independent. Which effectively is what I was in the first place. You see, in Oklahoma (at least) party registration is good for one thing (that I know of): voting in primaries. Primary elections select the party's candidates.

I don't know if Sarah Palin is going to run for president in 2012. I hope so. I don't know. There are some good candidates already announced for the Republican field, and plenty of terrible options. Most of the good candidates would be just fine for Sarah's VP. Palin is the best candidate I've seen, and if she is running she's already got the best campaign I've ever seen.
In the hopes of turning this country in the direction I think will be best for it, knowing no one is without their faults, and trusting that Palin is an excellent option, I've decided to do what I can to help.

After years of the federal government printing money round-the-clock - devaluing the dollars in your pocket in the process, aside from the relatively small amount needed for replacement levels - the printing presses finally slow down, the New York Times reports. Still, this clueless mag frames the story not as a due reduction in the hidden tax but as evidence that cash itself is in decline!
