Studies curriculum - Revised and condensed

After some reflection, I've condensed my education subjects list, regrouped a couple items, and added some additional study. In theory, this will be a more manageable list of studies, and provide more focus for taking action on my studies.

Fall semester studies

It's fall, and many people are going back to school. I'm not among them, but I've rarely gone to school for my education. There are several topics I've been studying though, or interested in, so in the spirit of the season I decided to formalize my study of these topics this semester. So what am I going to be learning through the end of the year?

Love at future sight

I decided it's high time I make sense of this whole dating, marriage, sex business; that whole area so crucial to the continuation of human life on this planet, right? I'm semi-well equipped for this mission: I'm a human male in the prime mating age, well read in spiritual teachings, dedicated to the will of our Father in Paradise, and trusting that He wants me to raise a family while still on this world.

Tau = 2Pi

Browsing the Better Explained blog's Aha section I came across what may be the first reference I've seen to using τ as the circle constant. It hadn't occurred to me before, except for my distaste with using 2π radians for a full circle and the attendant confusion involved.

I traveled (roughly) route 66

From North-East Oklahoma, on to Chicago, I didn't follow the exact old route, but the new interstates which are fairly close. Most of the rest stops had route 66 memorials.
This song mentions part of the path of route 66; mostly the parts I wasn't on. But it also demonstrates why I need to read lyrics to songs... I thought it was "the heart of rock and roll is the beat," yeah.

No time to rest

I'm back from Chicago, just in time for a short week at work, then heading back out to Salt Lake City, Utah.

This is a short note, just to say Hi, I'm back. Now time for sleep. Photos to come later. Chicago was awesome!

Windy city here I come!

A History of the World in Six Glasses

A short note, I recently finished reading A History of the World in Six Drinks by Tom Standage. I enjoyed it quite a bit and found it very informative. I do like a topical approach to history.

Why I am a republican

I've changed my voter registration. When first I registered, I selected for my political party "Libertarian". Idealism through and through. I'm in Oklahoma, and the Libertarian party didn't get enough votes to remain on the ballot since then. When they were (effectively) kicked out of OK, my party affiliation was changed to Independent. Which effectively is what I was in the first place. You see, in Oklahoma (at least) party registration is good for one thing (that I know of): voting in primaries. Primary elections select the party's candidates.
