Three Important Questions
I was given three questions today, and advised to take a couple weeks to answer them. For the sake of narrowing my future focus from the field of "everything", I need to answer them well.
- What are my talents?
- What do I enjoy doing?
- What do I feel better after I've done?
Simple enough, right? Not really. These are only the big, life-defining questions I've never put much bother about. I want to be a musician-artist-inventor-aviator-doctor-architect-psychologist-entrepreneur-religionist. There's a fast-track for that, isn't there?
So I've got to take some notes as I come up with some answers to these. With focus and determination, by the end of two weeks, I'll have a better idea who I am and where I'm going with my life. Notes I've written so far follow.
Writing eloquent, meaningful, deep, well-constructed articles is not a strong skill of mine, but I do enjoy giving expression to my thoughts, and I often feel better after putting together a well-crafted piece of text.
I enjoy informing people, teaching, about topics I know and have a passion for, especially when the person shows interest. In particular, I enjoy teaching what I know of the Urantia Book.
I enjoy reading and watching shows; listening to music, and dancing.
I feel better after solving problems. And after learning a song or piece of music well enough to sing or play from memory.
I often enjoy, and usually feel better after, helping someone who needed help.
I feel better after completion of drawing, though I often am incredibly frustrated with the amount of time required.
I enjoy creating digital recordings; photos and video; and feel better after putting them into a presentable format.
I feel better after cleaning, organizing and setting up well.
Additional thoughts and answers to follow.
